Sustainability is a growing part of what we do at Icon Metal, and to formalise our commitment to making our business more environmentally friendly now and into the future, we are seeking to become Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) certified.
This is a brand-new accreditation from the Australian Steel Institute specifically for the steel industry, updating our previous certification and with a renewed focus on ethical sourcing of materials and minimising our own carbon footprint. When awarded, our fabricated products will be eligible for Green Building Council of Australia Green Star rating, signalling to clients that we are committed to making our industry more sustainable.
The SSA complements our ISO 14001 Environmental Management Plan and our Net Zero Strategy.
We acknowledge the Darug people as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work.
We respect and recognise their spiritual connection and knowledge of these lands, waters and communities.
We pay respects to their cultures and Elders past, present and emerging.
